Pinna 1.0 is the first public release: a menu bar app that records your calls, transcribes them on your Mac and writes the notes.

• Records every call. Zoom, Teams, Meet in any browser, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Slack and other apps that use the microphone. Pinna asks before it keeps a call and waits until someone else speaks, so a quiet lobby is not saved. It asks "Still in a meeting?" when both sides go quiet and stops when the call app quits.
• Your voice and theirs, separately. One mixed file plus a file for each side. A recording cut off by a crash comes back at the next launch.
• Transcripts on your Mac. Built-in Whisper, NVIDIA Parakeet or Apple's on-device speech. With your own API key you can use Deepgram, OpenAI, Groq, AssemblyAI or ElevenLabs instead.
• A speech model for your Mac. Settings lists Whisper builds and Parakeet, each with a badge for how well it fits your Mac, its quality in Dutch and English, and its speed. Download, pause, test the speed on your Mac, or delete a model to free the space.
• Languages. Whisper, Parakeet and the cloud engines detect the spoken language. Apple's on-device speech cannot: it uses the language you pick, or else the language of your last transcript.
• Cloud only with your OK. Before a cloud engine or notes model gets anything, Pinna shows what is sent, to which company, how long they keep it and whether they train on it, and asks for your OK. It asks each company separately for your audio and for your transcript text, also when you pick one from the Library.
• Notes and key points. Summary, decisions, action items and open questions with timestamps, from Apple Intelligence, a local model such as Ollama or LM Studio, or a cloud model with your own key. Ollama models can be downloaded from Settings.
• Library. Play a recording with a transcript that follows along, search all your meetings and import recordings you already have.
• Made for AI agents. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other agents can search and read your meetings through a built-in MCP server, set up from Settings. You can hide any meeting or app from agents.
• Private by default. No account and no analytics. Audio, transcripts and notes are saved in folders you choose and leave your Mac only when you pick a cloud service.

Requires macOS 26 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. On an Intel Mac, transcripts come from Apple's on-device speech or a cloud engine; built-in Whisper, Parakeet and Apple Intelligence need Apple silicon.
